But with the republicans new way of thinking you’d have to “rate” your website, like the ESRB does video games and the MPAA does movies, and so on and so forth.

So lets imagine you think you’re going to make a NON adult website that could NOT be considered harmful to minors. Then one day you get pissed off and go on a tirade and say “FUCKING SHIT COCKSUCKING FUCKBALLS” in your post. Or maybe one day you include a picture or youtube video that may be considered “sexual”.

Only your website is still rated G.

The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee, with the backing of the Bush administration, approved an amendment to a wide-ranging telecommunications bill that would require mandatory website labeling on pages that contain explicit sexual images.

Both proposals were prompted by a speech from Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in April, who called on Congress to act quickly to “prevent people from inadvertently stumbling across pornographic images on the Internet.”

Yeah that’s great, I dont want anyone accidently stumbling accross porn if they dont want to. Problem is? KIDS ARENT DOING IT ON ACCIDENt YOU RETARDS. they want to look at porn. According to CNET News, which has seen a copy of the bill, websites must not place sexually graphic images on their homepage, and they must rate “each page or screen of the website that does contain sexually explicit material,” according to a system to be determined by the Federal Trade Commission.

I have no less than, lets say, seventy bazilillion pages across my server, all of which would have to be labeled. sounds like a real fun time.
